Cannacarton was honored to participate in the Michigan Cannabis Industry Association (MiCIA) Holiday Gala on December 14, 2023. The celebratory event was held at the Motor City Casino Hotel in Detroit with a fabulous crowd that included the best and brightest in the cannabis industry, former Detroit Lions players Calvin Johnson and Rob Sims, Detroit city officials, and even Santa Claus!
We enjoyed spending the evening networking with other people passionate about cannabis, celebrating with a champagne toast and live music, and hearing more about exciting happenings in the state of Michigan. At the event, the MiCIA awarded grants to Michigan-based minority owned cannabis businesses.
MiCIA is considered the voice for Michigan’s cannabis industry, advocating for success for medical and adult-use cannabis businesses by promoting sensible laws and regulations and establishing best practices. They bring together industry members, advocate and educate, host events to promote collaboration and partnerships, and deliver group buying power for their members.
The MiCIA reported in January that Michigan marijuana sales surpassed $3 billion in 2023, with monthly record breaking sales in December. This is about 1/3 more than $2.29 billion in 2022. The month of December recorded $279.9 million in total sales, up from the July 2023 record of $276.7 million. Exciting things are in store for the Michigan cannabis industry!
